The Intsimbi story
Founded in Deal Party, Port Elizabeth
Intsimbi Industrial Manufacturing cc opens at 20a Sturrock Street. Founding members establish the workshop around heavy industrial machining for the local production sector.
First Transnet contract awarded
Intsimbi is awarded its first supply and maintenance contract with Transnet — the beginning of a long-running relationship across multiple Transnet divisions.
Hydraulic cylinder division expands
Growing demand from automotive production drives investment in dedicated hydraulic repair and manufacturing — rams, pistons, barrels and full cylinder rebuilds.
Marine services division launched
A dedicated marine team is established to service squid and pelagic fishing vessels out of Port Elizabeth. 2025 marks 15 years of continuous marine operations.
3D scanning & reverse engineering
Investment in 3D scanning assistance allows Intsimbi to formally offer reverse engineering services — recreating components when OEM specs and drawings no longer exist.
BEE Level 2 certification achieved
Intsimbi achieves BEE Level 2 status — opening preferential procurement doors with government entities, parastatals and large corporates across South Africa.
